Welcome, friend, to my field notebook on how I try to build a life worth tending to; one ritual at a time. If you’re reading this page I hope you find comfort and maybe something that helps make each day a little better.
My name is Justin, and I have recently begun reclaiming my life after completing chemotherapy a little over a year ago by establishing rituals and systems that are aimed at making future me’s life just a bit easier. That is through meal prep, exercise, cocktails, organization, etc.
I enjoy baking bread, working on cocktails, and reading about food and drinks. I keep notebook entries after my bakes, after a new cocktail experiment, or when I come up with a meal prep really hits the spot. Most of my meal prep recipes are stews, because after heating one up for lunch at work feels like someone has taken the time to make this meal for me. Stews feel like home and there’s just something very comforting in that. It was this realization that set me on this venture.
I will leave recipes for meal preps, bread, and cocktail specs, not because this is a recipe blog and not from a place of authority but, as a hope that you may enjoy it as well. As much as I hope you find comfort in one or more of these entries I also hope to learn something from you in the process.
With that out of the way, here are my notes.
